This may go down as one of the worst all time deals in NBA history. Ok so we know it's a lock he will miss a minimum of 2 of the next 5 seasons. Even at that you are paying him 50 million a year. Haha. And that is best case scenario. These contracts are completely guaranteed.

This will handicap the sixers as they should be a prime free agent destination. Isn't their entire rotation aside from jj redick all under
like 23? So far what is the difference between embid and Greg Oden? It's almost like you are better off being a high pick and being injured to get that second contract.

It should be more like 5 years 48 million not 148 million.

He will make more per game than any player in NBA history.

regardless of how this ends. when healthy. embiid is worth twice that amount. theres a good chance fans like myself will have to wait a decade or more to get our hands on season tickets. 2 years ago 2 good seats were 2500 for the year.

When healthy???? I love that

as he gets older he will have more bs injuries.

He has Zero motivation to care. His career is over. And he is a bust yet will get paid like he is not

I've read that the deal is the most complex ever so tough to judge it until we see the details but I'm sure it is laden with incentives and team options.

Restricted free agent at end of season if the team didn't sign him by 10/16. The Sixers have tons of cap room. This signing wasn't a big risk. When healthy Embiid is a transcendent player. Sixers can waive him and only be responsible for 1/2 his salary according to deal. In other words if he suffers serious injury the Sixers have limited liability.

I hope he gets at least one fully healthy season in. Guy is a beast and will be fun to see some dominance at the center position again.

It sucks to pay a guy who played 35 games over 3 years that kind of money, but there was no choice. Someone was going to pay him no matter what. Sixers have the most cap space, the most cap flexibility over the next 4 years so it was an easy choice to make. They have no stars that need to reup for huge money for a few years.

Simmons does look huge in that pic with Embiid. He's pretty amazing too. Probably 6'11'' and people compare his handle and passing to James. I think his passing and handle are already BETTER then James and the kid is 20. Not saying he is a better player. Probably not as athletic. He can't shoot a lick. Unlike James he never will become a good shooter either. Watching Simmons shoot free throws is painful and he sat out all last year, if it didn't improve then it never will.

Embiid and Simmons are absolute monsters in terms of size for their positions and skills for their size. Would be great if they could stay healthy.
